My name is Reid Atcheson. I studied as an undergraduate at Kennesaw State University under my advisor Dr. Jonathan Lewin, through which I learned many topics in mathematical analysis such as measure theory, harmonic analysis, and functional analysis. After graduating I moved to Houston to pursue my Ph.D in computational and applied mathematics at Rice university. I worked under Dr. Timothy Warburton on the topic of discontinuous Galerkin methods for wave propagation problems. I completed my Ph.D in April 2015.

I have a strong interest in mathematics, scientific computation, and computer science. I pursue these topics in my spare time and am frequently trying to figure out how to make any aspect of scientific computation easier, be it on the mathematics presentation or in the software engineering.
